The PWA works but is still tied to the website. An APK would be truly standalone. And on iOS there are even more limitations of what you can do with a PWA.

Very cool. I'd suggest you create an npub for nowhere and deploy it as an nsite as well. Zero cost & it's another way to make it work without domains, just like your APK idea.
