But I heard bitcoiner nodes takes a terabyte of storage ! Besides the technical expertise ! And can you run it on phones ? In my mind , most normies are supposed to use lightning wallets ..and only core bitcoiners would indulge in a node ..

A Bitcoin node does take about 1TB to store the timechain. If you want freedom money it REQUIRES responsibility. Running a Bitcoin node does not take a lot of technical knowledge if you are just doing the basics. There are a lot of guides and a whole #noderunner community to ask questions of. There has been a lot of confusion for new people bitcoiners about what a Bitcoin vs Lightning node is. For those that came in being introduced to lightning only they get the use case, but not the core values. (Hopefully that makes sense). If you want freedom money and you want to protect your money you run a Bitcoin node. Lightning nodes run on top of Bitcoin nodes, but you do not have to run a lightning node. Lightning nodes are high harder to run and they require higher end computers. That is where some of the confusion about node running comes in. A basic Bitcoin node can be run on a raspberry pi, you just have to have enough storage and at least 4 GB of ram. A two terabyte drive is pretty normal now, as it's future proof. Easy to run Bitcoin node software: - MyNode - Start 9 - Umbrel - Raspblitz (I have not used, but apparently it's similar). Hope that helps. ๐Ÿ™‚
