My goal with shosho.live website is to make it friendly for people to turn up and chat with you on your live, without needing to know what Nostr is. i.e. They come to your live and we create an npub automatically. They press chat and we prompt them to add their name. The idea is that you can get audience engagement without asking people to stop and sign up. You're welcome to try it! I am very interested in feedback.

I think OBS Studio is great for broadcasting from desktop. You just need a server to use (like zap stream) and an easy way to configure and to publish your Nostr event so that people can find your live. We should make it easier to plug OBS into Nostr event publishing. Something for the future.
My focus for now on easy low-end broadcasting and great turn key stuff for viewers, so that a creator can say "hey I'm live here real quick" and we take care of making sure their viewers are easy in and chatting with no friction at all.
I am not an expert at OBS but depending on your needs then maybe, yes. @TheGrinder and other use OBS to stream their gaming. Regardless of which broadcaster or server you choose all Nostr clients will pick up your live, so you could direct your viewers to your shosho.live landing page or any other landing page all the same. It's all very flexible and composable.
