I'm not in any state of zen, but one of my superpowers is ignoring my feelings. The discomfort is a great way to get something productive done, like say, getting a new PR on your bench, learning ancient Greek or reading Dostoevsky. That's how you silence the inner coward.

I hadn't thought about it like that, but maybe that's what it is. I do learn something new every bear market, though. Maybe it's time to take up jiujitsu.
