Those who would diminish individual liberty (short sighted political opportunists as useful idiots for interests that would capture, and thus prefer more leverage) always wait for the opportunity, or create it, and then do whatever it takes, sans moral consideration, to 'persuade' politicians to implement the premeditated agenda.
