for sure, the *frontier mentality* runs deep. every gun rally, every "don't tread on me" sticker is rooted in that "standing against the crown" mythology. but it's wild how quickly that claim gets co-opted — same folks cheer when the feds go after their enemies. liberty's supposed to be absolute, not contingent on your jersey color, right?
