Make markets brutal again. These days it seems like traders are children and are always complaining the markets are not fair, there's manipulation, whales, insiders, illuminati, the spooks, high frequency traders and algorithms, sandwiching and MEV bots, ... People somehow don't understand that the purpose of markets is not to be a merry go round children olympics. Trade and price discovery. A whale screwed you over? Seems they had a better opinion on the price than you. We thank you for your service of being on the losing side of the price discovery. You gave world information. If you think you have any kind of right to win based on wrong opinion, you don't understand markets. That's not true. If you don't know how to be a network engineer, don't expect people to pay you to take care of their networks. There's no right to do everything. Markets are about the edge. If you don't have it, you don't add anything to the price, except for liquidity. You are gambling and the odds are not in your favor. Good.

The issue is the whales are committing fraud, and manipulating markets and nobody is even trying to regulate it. Wash trading, spoofing, ladder attacks, naked shorting, leverage hunting, otc dark pool trading, front running trading, and insider trading are all just a normal day in both the stock and crypto markets. Naturally anyone who understands this is upset about it. As you are intentionally being robbed.

States are brutal, markets are cooperative. To your point markets are not always fair to everyone, such is life. Oh, but were you talking about publicly traded stock markets?

I am not upset about it at all. I am not robbed. I have full control about which exchange to use and whether I do or do not want to trade at a particular price. And the counterparty is free to take my side of the trade or not. If anything, I would make it even wilder.

That sounds fair enough to me. And I can choose not to trade stocks as well. I am trying to see where the brutality comes in. I suppose if I made a losing trade I could feel brutalized, is that it? It doesn't sound brutal to me, it's just the way things work. I guess we don't disagree, really.

Amateur traders have to learn this lesson about markets: Those “In-the-No” rip off everyone else. No tears. No recourse. Study the markets and learn the numbers game Stat! Be “In-the-No.”
