I enjoyed your take on Mike Brock's article. I went and read his 12/1 and 12/2 posts just to try to fully understand his perspective. It's strange to see someone who was involved in bitcoin take this position. The main take - and he raked nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqg7waehxw309anx2etywvhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7ur0wp6kcctjqqsd2s26xy7ns3sllyagc9c0jsdje49xdfw0mwcfxsrfvrmvkvtcf8c2pmm0w in particular for this - is that if folks like Thiel like bitcoin, then bitcoiners are aligned with fascists even if they profess different intentions.
The part I don't understand: except for those people who somehow live without need for any currency, the alternative is fiat. If you're advocating for - or even using - fiat money, you are also aligned with some very questionable people who are wreaking havoc on poor people and society as a whole.
He's smart enough to know this but it doesn't seem to enter into his arguments.
