Daddy Chips
Oven-baked potato chips sliced thin for consistent surface area and crunch.
Ingredients
Potatoes 1 bag
1/2 stick Butter, melted
2 tsp Seasoning
Salt (for water and finishing)
Instructions
Prep & Slice: Wash potatoes. Using a mandolin (and the fork technique for safety), slice potatoes to 1/8" thickness. Position the potato to ensure consistent, round slices.
Soak: Place slices in cold, salted water. Drain well before proceeding.
Butter Mixture: Melt 1/2 stick of butter and stir in 2 teaspoons of seasoning.
Toss: Add the potato slices to the butter mixture and toss to coat thoroughly.
Arrange: Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange the slices in a single layer on large baking sheets.
Bake Part 1: Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes, then flip the slices.
Bake Part 2: Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F. Bake for another 15 minutes or until desired crispness is reached.
Finish: Remove from the oven and toss in a bowl with a dash of salt.
