It is not the apps. It's the people. We are all a bunch of weirdos with a niche obsession that nobody cares about. The world is no where close to ready for something like nostr at scale. Nobody gives a fuck.

You are right that it is the people. But it is not that we are a bunch of weirdos, people are just tired of all the interaction. You see it on x, facebook, etc as well. Social media, in general is only for the dopamine fix, if it requires any thought, people, in general, are not interested. By definition, NOSTR is trying to make an audience of people that want serious discussion, not mere click bait. The security aspects that make Nostr desirable only appeal to a small subset and the mental price is too high.
