Been doing keto for a few days. I have cycled it on and off for a few years. But for the first time ever, my GKI was 1.2 with ketones at 1.5 and blood sugar at *drum roll* 34. Wtf lol. I ate a little plain yogurt when I saw that number.

Nope, I've always been hyperglycemic, never hypo, and I don't track ketones.
Were you experiencing symptoms and had you consumed alcohol recently?
No symptoms so I was shocked at the value. I felt really good. I don't really drink alcohol, maybe a beer every few months lol. I tested again this morn, after my walk and very similar to yesterday.

I will buy some calibration solution then we will see
👀 yeah, there's gotta be something wrong with your reader. That's like slurring words type of low.
I did a quick test tho. After dinner, it popped a 28 wtflolhow. So I ate a plain Activia and a tbsp of pom seeds, and 20 min later got an 88. Anyways, I ordered calibration soln. We will get to the bottom of this 🕵🏼
Since you do see a blood sugar spike when consuming lactose you should assume your blood test is accurate until proven otherwise. How often do you test and have your glucose numbers been trending down before this? Not sure if you're covered under NL's health system or have insurance that would cover getting a blood and urine test. There's a lot that could be going wrong here
No insurance yet. I need a BSN number and that is forthcoming. Yeah, I did the test to check machine accuracy. I first used a CGM in '21 and found out I was waking up in the 50s. It explained my AM grogginess. I have tested with CGM or prick at least 3x/yr for a few weeks each time ever since. I started experimenting with food and made progress. Tried keto in '22 and found that my body being fat fuel adapted really stabilized my BS. These ~30 readings are with 0-20g carbs/day so I will stay in the 20-50g range when I keto, which is my norm. I don't have this problem there.
It is wildly mind blowing to see these figures and defo makes me wonder what is going on, like the biochem of it. Thanks, H🫂
