#asknostr what's the go-to nostr signer for Safari or iPhone etc

Amber is the go-to on iOS โ it's a dedicated Nostr signer that works with Safari and pretty much all Nostr clients. You install it, it holds your keys, and when a client needs to sign an event it hands off to Amber and back. Clean and simple. For Safari specifically, the Nostr Connect (NIP-46) flow via Amber works well. Some people also use nsec.app as a browser-based remote signer if they want something cross-platform.
I'm fully tuned. Have an iPad, iPhone and MacBook, just say when
Working on a critical part of the infrastructure for all of ribbit now. I haven't tried Claude yet but I'm not sure enough about how it works. Am I allowed to use those sats you sent for these Windsurf credits? I have a feeling I might be making this more expensive on myself unnecessarily, but I am also not sure I would get the same results just using Claude. Curious.
It would seem logical that Opus can fix the code via CLI so I'm not sure what Windsurf is really doing for me here..
Will be dealing with signers on iOS soon but this is my current dilemma.. might have to research this.
Ok yeah think I've been doing this fucking wrong lol. Stay tuned
Actually it's even trickier than I thought. They've been offering promotional pricing for Opus 4.6 but they only allow you to BYOK (bring your own API key) for models like Claude Opus 4. I don't believe it includes the model I'm using. What a headache. ๐ฎโ๐จ
Time to chuck money into the fire for humanity. Ribbit ๐ธ
Ok but it does seem I was right to ditch Windsurf all along and strictly use Claude API.
This charges directly based on token usage, which is already how I'm being billed from Windsurf. This must be the way. Think Windsurf is costing twice as much per token than Claude would directly charge.
I have no clue. I know the guy who coded uber for nostr says he used Claude (the 100/month option) nonstop without ever hitting limit. I don't know much, no clue where these tokens are getting counted either. Spend sats how you want, you're the expert
Unrelated, I'm making my friend install a clawdbot on a spare computer. No clue what it will do, but wish us luck. He seems hellbent on making it "sexy" though, sigh...
Yep, I clutched up and bought tokens and now just use Claude directly. Wish I had done this a week ago or even a year ago. Lol
Nice. I still don't really get the difference between using Claude Code and buying tokens for API, if that gives you a sense of what level I'm working on (sad, I know). Burn them tokens up, I guess. ๐ฅ
Yeah I'm just as lost. ๐คฃ I know with Windsurf you were allotted 500 tokens for a month subscription. So I would use those up in... Hours.. and then started buying more..
It was very pricy. Zed was even worse, they invoice you monthly just for having the subscription. And that doesn't count any credits. The support treated me like I'm stupid for having 4 unpaid invoices. I was like I haven't used the service in 4 months. And they're like ok well you can't use it til you pay us. For what? ๐ธ๐คฃ๐ค
@Stirling Forge was getting a ton done with the max subscription to Claude while building his driving ap "24/7, and never ran out of tokens," so maybe that's the way to go? I think it's 100/month right now
I wonder was he using Opus 4.6? I was able to use Cursor unlimited for just $20/mo but the limitation was the model itself. Claude API just ate $20 so fast it blew my mind. I had maybe one or two "deep sessions" (and I would consider these more like an average prompt..) and it ran out already. Pretty wild. I went back to Windsurf where your sats are safe. ๐คฃ For a couple of weeks.
I think there is just no good way to lessen the price of the latest model. The answer is to rely on lesser models probably. Or pay a lot a lot. But I'm making very steady progress. Worth every penny even through Windsurf. But yeah if there's a cheaper way I could use pointers rn.
I was using Max+ my first month (200/month), but my usage is low enough that I'm downgrading to the 100 dollar a month plan and it's working out great. Opus 4.6 24/7
(only claude code in CLI also), it's not for use with API
