It's not the time to be a rockstar anymore. That time was before any idiot had a camera at hand, with live or immediate uploading capabilities. Sure, you can take the last floor somewhere for some privacy but it's not the same. The time of "who gives af about witnesses" is long gone, so there's that.
I think it was never time to trade your privacy for vanity or performance. On the other hand - if you're accomplishing something worthwhile & noone else is able to pick up that burden...
