このニュース見ましたが、日本では、その旅行者たちが、その場にふさわしくない格好と行動をしていたことも、大きな問題と考えていました。 警察でもない人たちが、勝手に罰を下すのは良くない事ではあると同時に、この日本人旅行者の行動にも問題があったとも私は思います。

Indian tourists have the reputation for behaving inappropriately (being loud/ travelling in big groups blocking paths/ littering, etc sometimes) - not out of malice, but because these are considered kind of okay in India. So I think reacting harshly to the Japanese tourist behaviour is ironic -- but of course, when it comes to "religious/sacred" places, emotions rule over thoughts
