I am referring to the essence of raving. I don't impute a frozen abstraction of value judgement onto the concept for an act that does not necessarily carry such value judgement with it. In this case, it was a good thing! I used an LLM to translate my concept into words, since I don't really use dictionaries and shit: Essential Definition: "Raving" means expressing something (usually emotion, opinion, or energy) in an intensely passionate, unrestrained, or frenzied manner, often to the point of seeming irrational or ecstatic. Nuances: Positive context: "She was raving about the concert—she couldn’t stop dancing!" (Here, it’s about unbridled excitement.) Negative context: "He was raving like a madman after the loss." (Here, it’s about uncontrolled anger or distress.)

Welcome! Oh yeah, it conveys the idea of something extreme, so it is often used to emphasize how extremely good or extremely bad something is. I sometimes just say how extreme something is because I found it funny or interesting or because it's relevant information, like here showing how the person was right to be raving about hylomorphic metaphysics!
