Why are people so susceptible to conspiracy theories? People seem so eager to attribute superhuman powers to a made-up class of comic-book overlords, they never actually think through how difficult it would be (usually impossible) for groups of real live human beings to actually implement the schemes they are accusing them of implementing.
It's like they want to live in a world with comic-book super-villains, because it gives them, I dunno, purpose?
