I'm considering to give 21 Ways another go. It's a book I want to finish eventually, but it was impossible for me to focus on it in the last couple of years.

It is on my todo list in Obsidian to read it once it is done.
I have the same issue with focus, but am taking action to remedy it.

turns out that dice rolls are incredibly powerful; even at 10 dice rolls, an mk3 user would have been completely protected.
Even a really shitty, loaded, dice roll with a very low count (like as low as 20) would have protected mk3 users massively.
Very low dice rolls were attacked in wave 3 (<5 rolls).
