Today I learnt:
‘Epictetus himself was born into slavery in the Roman Empire. He was owned by a wealthy Roman official (Epaphroditus) and gained his freedom later in life. His personal experience as a slave profoundly shaped his philosophy and gave him a unique perspective on inner freedom, resilience, and control over one's own mind’

Heady.
😆 love it.
The famous stoic trio. Marcus Aurelius is considered the last good King and my personal fav. Seneca was extremely wealthy, arguably the second after king Nero at that time. There are some controversies around him especially with vouching for Nero and being his tutor also. Epitectus started from the bottom as mentioned above. It really shows how versatile was the stoic school of thought.
