Modern healthcare feels like a scam. Watching my poor mother bounce around this system and not find the right care to get better breaks my heart.

Sorry to hear that. I hope I just die and don't need the help from the so called 'social system' when I'm old.
I’m sorry to hear about your mom. It most definitely is a scam
Yeah it's amazing this hasn't caused a revolution in itself. The way we dishonor our elders seems criminal.

It really sucks. I’ve written a book about helping parents navigate health care and the second half of the book is about safely aging in place. Shoot me a DM and I can send you the PDF for free if you would like.
It’s also available on Amazon if you want a physical copy. It’s called The accidental caregiver’s guide. By Winn Merwin PT, DPT.
I looked over the description and your book looks like something I should have read a few years ago when we brought my mother to live with us! There's so much I've learned that I've missed out on in "benefits" for her and our family that we would have been eligible for. It's a whole different issue I could get on a soapbox about with the benefits our government offers but you have to ask for but likely never even imagined existed to know to ask for. I've had to miss numerous events that I've found that if I had applied for that there's even a number of hours you can register to get people to sit in so I could have went out to various things like Tabconf or the recent nostr events. Amazing that it was never a resource given by any of the "social workers" that were assigned to Mom over the years but was there for the taking if I had just known to ask.
I also have parents aging in place, gonna zap you some sats for a copy of the book!
If you want a physical copy I can mail one of your in the US. Or I can send a pdf to an email. Send me a DM and let me know!
