Sometimes an old photo of someone you once loved hits harder than you expect. It may create unease or spur a check in with your present relationship.
I’ve come to understand the longing isn’t really for the other person, but for the version of you who once thought life might unfold a certain way.
You can be fulfilled in the present and still feel that pull. Just a proof of how deeply you’ve always been able to feel and a sign of how much you’ve grown.
