One of the challenges is that the fundamentals seem so cliche that people just don’t believe them or do them. Start with product market fit mindset. (Read the spaghetti chart by Lightspeed Capital). If you think you have PMF you do not. PMF pulls you by the nostrils with two fingers. It’s like a hotdog suit in a wolf pack. PMF is the zero to one moment. After you have it you want to understand the total addressable market of it and tie an amount to your vision statement to hold yourself accountable to it. Then: 1. A players only (read WHO by Smart). 2. Go insanely fast at everything as in breakneck speed. 3. Payback period and GMLTV to CAC are the metrics that matter most for CPG. 4. Mission, vision and values matter. Don’t violate them and if you do make it a big deal or update them with a company wide announcement.
