Can you name any country that is or was “greater”? I cannot, and I’d still rather have our problems than any other country’s. But I think we look to government too much for “greatness”. Our government is not “great”. It’s just a clanking, bland machine that cranks out checks. It’s our unparalleled creative private sector that makes us “great.” In that sense, you cannot name a “greater” country, because there was and is nothing close in world history.
Nah. The issue is that people don’t understand the real reason America was (and still is so great). It was never because it was a “melting pot”, own your own home, “American dream”. What made and makes America great is this: 1A 2A 4A Money that was pegged to gold The latter no longer being in place is why it isn’t affordable and has skewed the perception of why it was great in the first place. God given rights of the individual that the government cannot fuck with. People will point to affordable western countries and say it’s far superior to life in the USA. The only reason many of these places are so cheap to live is because their lifestyles are subsidized by US funded NGOs and military.
