First thing that stands out is the default relay limit bumped to 4MB? How is that not a big block move? Sounds like they’re just trying to BCH the protocol. I’m guessing that data can be compressed somehow so it actually takes less space than that within the block? And if the opreturn makes the coin unspendable? Don’t we just circle back to the conversation about people using this mechanism pricing themselves out of sending those transactions? That weirdly sounds good for holders and miners. Even though it sounds like it would drive tx costs way up.

Was the relay limit originally 1MB, and then it jumped to 4MB? If so, I think I remember hearing about this. IIRC, the conversation was related to Taproot, and maybe it enabled ordinals? I guess it depends on which versions you are comparing because I don’t remember.
