Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred in Singidunum (Belgrade) during Licinius' reign. Ermil boldly confessed his faith, refusing to offer pagan sacrifices. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's torture, revealing his belief. Both were subjected to brutal torments before being drowned in the Danube River. Their steadfast faith serves as an example of courage in the face of persecution.
