He means, fuck your self sovereignty and being able to run an electrum server or have an actual copy of the blockchain. We should really leave the full node running to a centalized authority
There is this propaganda about op_return being good because it's a UTXO that can be ignored by the utxo set.
Which is true, because every garbage is garbage and it takes space just as much as in witness, but if with other means you might get unspendable UTXOs that still need to become part of the utxo set, with OP_RETURN you can avoid that additional load in the database.
Which is like saying that if your daughter tries to resist a migrant, she might get a few teeth broken on top of being violated, but if you teach your daughter to never resist a migrant, she will still get violated but at least she gets to keep all her teeth.
Op return is provable unspendable. Witness data may be prunable but it might also need to stay in the utxo set forever. I’d rather we be able to dump it.
