BIP-110 is likely to fail IMO. But, I want to maximize Bitcoin’s chances of succeeding as money, so I would be willing to try again to mitigate spam through consensus changes at some point in the future. I want Bitcoin to be money with maybe some small data payloads like open timestamps or hashes in pruneable OP_RETURN, but not large payloads of spam that introduce too much of a burden on node operators and unnecessary legal risks for Bitcoin.
