Not all lightning uses ecash. Ecash is useful because it enables offline payments, diversified custody, gives excellent privacy to users, and wallets can work with public mints without needing to create a dedicated account with each one.

I like the sound of it tbh, setting up accounts sucks, offline is cool af and money should (in certain instances) be frictionless in essence. I'll figure it out. Thanks a lot for the explanations.
