You can grow short season crops just about any time of year - Lettuce, radishes, etc. even carrots would do great this time of year. Also many southern gardeners take advantage of cooler winter temps to grow crops that are considered warm season crops else where- crops that would struggle with extreme high temps and/or drought during summer. I know many southern farms plan tomatoes, peppers and squash out now and plan to harvest late spring before things heat up too much. Then they shut down for June-Aug.

how interesting! I didn't know I could still do tomatoes right now. I'll have to give that a try. taro is obsessed with salsa right now. tomatoes, onions, cilantro, a bit of salt and lemon. he signs for "dip" even when he's eating not-paired-with-salsa foods like, strawberries ๐Ÿ˜†
