π£ Nostr needs real Linux clients β with broader community support
Nostr is a free and open protocol, built on decentralization and censorship resistance.
But where are the serious, native Linux clients?
Sure, there are clients β and they deserve huge credit.
But many are maintained by just one main person. Thatβs fragile.
Others are browser-based or optimized for mobile. Great, but not enough.
Linux is the natural home for local-first, auditable, and privacy-respecting communication.
Yet most Nostr clients on Linux still depend on web stacks β making them almost as exposed as traditional platforms.
π What we need:
- Native GUI clients for Linux with current nip support
- Zero telemetry by default
- Optionale: local AI-based filtering (instead of relay moderation)
Until then, a decentralized protocol without truly local autonomy remains vulnerable β not by design, but by missing tools.
What do you think?
Or maybe Iβm missing something β is there already a solid native Linux client I just donβt know about?
