The speed suggests lots of backing. I find it astonishing how little coverage but thats quite traditional with Kivu. Someone in our bitcoin group asked what things to watch for in the news a few weeks ago. I mentioned Kivu and no response. I think it would benefit the world for international actors to stop fucking with congo for resources but unlikely to happen

Remember the UK wanted to send refugees from the UK to Rwanda and then "pay" Rwanda for this? Well those same "refugees" are possible fighters, trainers + with UK funding, Rwanda can then get local militia to work on their behalf whilst creating the export channels through Rwanda, increasing their tax base. This is basically what is happening but our president too much of a poes to call them out - he calls them out then back tracks because "we are family" or some bullshit or another African unity vibe
Congolese constantly suffer this since the back stab at independence. Really would be nice to see the other countries stop. I suppose thats wishful thinking whilst people still like to blame Africans for the problems whilst robbing them. Power projection
