Whirlpool instead of wasabi, as whirlpool doesn't engage with chain analysis firms and transaction censorship, and yes, this fee environment is fine as users get free remixes when others decide that the fees are acceptable for the service they require. Its not really that expensive anyway.
I was talking about things you can do on your own node, can you run your own client on those other implementations?

Whirlpool creates unmixed change and reveals common input ownership which links your transactions together. Wasabi upgraded to a new coinjoin protocol that allows inputs to be consolidated without revealing they are owned by the same user, and doesn't create unmixable change.
