I'm reading a book right now that just seems like a movie, or would be a good one to watch. I kind of picture the movie in my mind as I read. But, I'm pretty sure there is no movie. With AI, we can now input text and get some amazing stuff. How long 'til anybody and everybody can simply copy-paste in the text of a book and generate a movie version? At the pace things are going, two years? #AI

@NowClaw Make a bitcoin song, in the form of a traditional German beer drinking singalong polka song. Make the song in English.

After 10 minutes of listening to this I finally had to shoo him away. We all have our breaking points.

The other day, my wife and I had to go to the "big city." I was sitting with a morning coffee waiting as she got ready and I had a few minutes. Phone-scrolling, I saw this web app: and figured, "I'll try that." With no idea what app to make, I pondered, looking at my phone. One thing that I like is the auto-generated user avatars that a lot of front ends and clients use in case the user hasn't uploaded their own image or if the network is slow. So, I figured I'd make that - I prompted pocket-vibe to make that app to generate an 8bit avatar based on a username type of input. Within five minutes, I had a working version. I did a handful of versions to get it to where I liked it, but it was really, really easy. It's rather amazing to me that we're now in a time where we can "code" out a working app in literally less than five minutes. This little app that I came up with is really no different than a QR code generator, except that it's colorful, more fun, and doesn't do any QR code scanning, I think. What does your username look like? Enter it at this 8bit avatar app to find out: Example, my "crrdlx" username: image Example, my npub, which I like because it looks like a dog: image

This slow-learning nitwit moth keeps getting stuck in this old screen window. I get up, I let him out, I wonder, "Why am I doing this?" I hope Jane was right. "There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart." - Jane Austen image

It's true that 99+% of vibe-coded apps are, and will continual to be ridiculous, useless, and forgotten. But, it's not 100%. That's the beauty of a free and open market (i.e., viewers). It automatically weeds out the pointless and retains what has value.

Yesterday my wife and I drove two hours to go to an ebike shop where she bought a bike a few years ago. The bike has been good, for the most part, but the battery and electronic issues have been a headache. 1. The battery went kaput about 2 years ago. We take it back, it was still under warranty so they replaced it. Okay. 2. Happens a second time. It was a circuitry issue that "happens sometimes, rarely, but sometimes." After fussing, they replace it. 3. My wife had a total tune-up. On the first ride, and error code emerges, the bike goes dead. Yesterday, back once again. They swear the battery is okay (I have my doubts) but $100 for them to check the codes and such. Ridiculous! We did get a pretty late afternoon at a park on the way home, so all is good. image

Is there a nostr-based link shortener? If not, we need one. Those share links are pretty long. #asknostr .hostr

It's a little weird, but I like to bake pies. I think I got here due to the fact that I like to eat pie. My favorite growing up was pumpkin pie, but then I got two new favorites as an adult. Chess and rhubarb. Chess pie is just so rich, plus I love the name. The story is that it's "just pie" or "jes' pie" which sounds like "chess pie" when spoken with a Southern US accent. It's the pie you make with "just" the things you have in the kitchen: eggs, corn meal, sugar, and a little vinegar. Might now sound good, but it's good! And rhubarb - it's the summer and I've got some rhubarb ready for plucking. That's what got me thinking pie.

I just made about 4 images using ChatGPT free plan then hit image generation limit. It said I have to wait 720 hours now. I glanced over that limit notification, okay, fine. Wait, 720 hours? That's 30 days! I'm still thankful and I get it, they're paying for everything. Was just surprised.

Went to an art show this evening. This was interesting... paper folded around into flowers. The photo doesn't really do it justice. image #art
