Sunday we went to an installation service for a new pastor in the church. Twelve other pastors were there to support, guide, and pray for the newcomer. It was very nice and followed by a nice dinner.
Sitting at our table was a young woman with her boyfriend and family. She was alluding to how hard it is in college and all the work... She asked her mother, "Have you ever gotten up at 6:30 in the morning in the middle of winter? "
Her mother looked at her a bit stunned and simply said, "Yes." Mom looked over at me with a "What kind of question was that?" look. I was thinking the same thing and said, "6:30 is sleeping in late." Her mother added, "I've already got an hour in by then." The daughter then qualified 6:30am as early for college students. But I'm not buying it. I recall getting up at 5am, after working the night prior, so as to move my car out of the parking lot because parking tickets started at 6am.
I'm thinking this is a generational thing. But I'm getting tired of hearing from young people "how tough things are today" and how the older generation ruined it for them and how it's so different now. Its always been tough, for everyone. On a typical day for me, the alarm goes off at 4:44am. I'm often awake prior. I'm on my feet by 5, on my bicycle by 6 pedaling to work. Get up at 6:30? That's sleeping in.
And oh, if that wasn't irksome enough, I had a cheeseburger all loaded up, looking delicious, and ready to take home. I could have eaten it there, but didn't want to stuff myself. I'd enjoy it as a later night snack. I went to turn in my dirty silverware, and when I returned to the table a whole 30 seconds later, someone had cleared the table, including my beautiful cheeseburger! I had not taken one single bite and it got tossed! Argh! Otherwise, great day.

"CR" for short. Edited "Kicking the Hornet's Nest" (everything Satoshi wrote publicly in chronological order). Made the Nostr Wiki at https://nostrwiki.vercel.app and Nostr bridges: Nostrdon (with Mastodon) & Hostr (with Hive). Home page: https://crrdlx.vercel.app
Though my nostr-mastodon (nostrdon) bridge seems down (and I simply cannot get mostr to work), that's ok. It's OK because my nostr-hive bridge (hostr) is working great. (Knock on wood!)

I'm going to miss soccer/futbol now and I'm not even a soccer/futbol guy.
It's been a while since I've looked at this and I don't know exactly why I made it, but I took a look again today at
You can play chess against either the #bitcoin or #ethereum blockchains, or watch them play one another. Pretty geeky, hah!

X degrees of Y
Something weird occurred to me yesterday. I was writing something family oriented and was doing some internet digging. I wanted to know if a friend from high school, call this person "Charlie", who was still working at Company ABC, which Charlie founded.
It turned out that company ABC sold a few years back to much...

I hope this Clarity act gets passed. I know the latest hurdle du jour is "ethics," led by Sen. Warren, of course. I respect that she apparently is also against government officials benefiting from stock trades. Good for her. But her track record suggests that she's mostly just trying to stall, delay, and is grandstanding for her name in the media. I hope the act passes. It would be progress and this is the road that nations will eventually go down, whether the US leads the way or not. I feel it's better when the US leads.
For some reason, I find this 1 satoshi zap both technically amazing that such a small tip can even be made and hilarious that it's in reply to "Zap big". #Bitcoin is awesome.

I just saw this little fellow hunkering down on the path. I raced right by him on my bike, he never budged. I stopped, went back to check on him. A storm went through last night and I think he either got blown from the tree or feathers soaked, or both. He didn't look injured, just laying low. I've heard it's okay to gently move a fledgling to a safe spot and they're usually okay. He seemed fine, and safe enough (though totally vulnerable to predators) so I decided to leave him as is rather than terrorize the little buy by picking him up.
Google tells me:
This young bird appears to be a swallow fledgling, possibly a species like the Purple Martin or Bank Swallow. If the bird is not injured, it is best to leave it alone, as its parents are likely nearby.

Saw my first ever indigo bunting yesterday. This (first siting) is not the best. The second was in the sun, wow, much blue.
Went to a preserve yesterday for some hiking. This stroller was sitting alone in the parking lot two hours, no other cars. Odd. While we weren't looking, it moved. Wind? Slope? While we hiked, it disappeared. Weird.

This little kid suddenly landed on my laptop out of the blue. It made me stop and pause and think. Every tiny seed holds hope.

Funny how bluesky is promoting blog posts as a feature which YOU MUST PAY FOR, whereas meanwhile you can do the same thing on Nostr or Hive, FOR FREE, and possibly RECEIVE bitcoin zaps or HIVE rewards.

It's annoying when you're client says, "Error: post not sent", so you back up, try again, get the same error, switch out, try one more time with success. Then you realize you've posted the same thing three times. :/
