Bitchatr = bitchat + reticulum Quick background Bitchat popped up when Jack Dorsey put out this: It's a chat client that connects people via Bluetooth, no internet or cell connection needed. Range? Bitchatr sounds neat, but who wants to chat with the person in the same room? We need ... Bridged via Hostr at This is a long form post, read the full article at

After attending an art showing, saw this beautiful church and courtyard. Although it seems very cozy, the tables and umbrellas make it seem rather coffee-shoppish (I don't particularly like that). image

Another through-the-window view of when the #art outside is as good as the art inside at the showing. (And the art inside was actually good.) image #photography

Attending an #art showing or opening is fun, but I've found that I'm often just as intrigued by what's outside. Peering out this window seemed like a scene ready to be painted. image #photography

Went to an educational and experimental #farm. You could sack up potatoes and pick sweet peas. Fun.

In theory, since bitchat is Bluetooth based, it could work over reticulum, right?

After stripping a coneflower's head, I kind of see where the name came from. Looking it up, there's a bit more to it. It's from the Greek root word and refers to the sea urchin like spiny #nature of the flower, which forms cone shaped. I will be trying to seed them. Learn stuff every day. image #gardening

My opinion of Jack's bitchat is evolving, see https://w3.do/aOTZzvuF First thought: reticulum > bitchat because radio waves have greater range than bluetooth. But, reticulum (and meshtastic) requires specialized hardware. Few people have or will get this. Second thought: people already have a bluetooth phone in their hand. So, maybe bitchat > reticulum by sheer power of numbers of devices possible. (It would still need to become stupid-simple and dummy-proof as a UX though.)

The Rabbit War of 2025 has commenced. Each summer I engage in rodent wars - chipmunks, squirrels, and rabbits. In the past, chipmunks have been the nemeses. I once started C.H.i.R.P. = Chipmunk Habitat Relocation Program for trapping and moving them. I think 18 chipmunks were relocated, none harmed. Below is a gif showing the traps: it goes it, bait is in the rear, trips the trigger, trapped. This year, it's rabbits. I had two nice tomato plants almost ready to be transplanted into the ground. A rabbit nipped one off, left it on the ground. I started more baby tomato plants. The rabbit nipped half of them off. So, I brought in the milk crate cover. If the problem persists, the next step is the rabbit trap and relocation. Stay tuned. image

For two days a rabbit has been terrorizing me and my tomatoes. Last night he nipped off half the plants, leaving them lying to wilt, yet left others onmolested. This was a power move designed to taunt and intimidate me. Let's see how he deals with the milk crate! Reminds of this ode: Thou wretched hare, Victorie is not wrested by battles in pairs. Nay, warres are won by the long game. How whilst thou reckon with thee milke crate? Tomorrow, is a newe day, I surrender naught, O thou hare o' Hades. image

#Bitchat sounds like #Reticulum but with less range. Am I missing something here?

I see a lot of rappers doing movies, TV shows, and commercials for things like car repair insurance. Whatever happened to "don't sell out"? Or was "don't sell out" just a ploy to build a brand, make money, get famous enough in order to then actually sell out? #streetcred is a scam.

Strangely, I woke up thinking about sleep. Particularly, I thought of how people often say, "I don't sleep much, but I lie in bed and rest." Then I thought to myself: Lying in bed, resting, and feeling it's the same as actually sleeping is like lying on the couch, thinking of exercising, and feeling it's the same as actually exercising. Get your sleep, people. And, ironically, exercising helps with sleep.
