been thinking about this since my last post — no bch merchants near me in the province, only in cities. and instead of just waiting for that to change, why not be the one who brings it here? had a conversation with @BCH Reply Guy about bchpay.cash and it kind of clicked for me. it’s a point-of-sale terminal that just runs in any browser. no account needed, no monthly fees, no card reader to buy, payments go straight to your wallet. it’s also open source and works offline, which matters a lot in places like mine where signal isn’t always reliable. so here’s the idea i’m sitting with — what if i start small? talk to the sari-sari store i always buy from, the local cafe, the vendors i already have a relationship with. not as some big pitch, just “hey, here’s a way to accept this, no cost to you, no risk.” most of them have never even heard of bch, let alone known there’s a way to accept it with zero setup. maybe nothing comes of it. maybe one shop says yes and that’s enough to start something bigger here. if anyone’s tried introducing bchpay.cash to local merchants already, i’d love to hear how that conversation went for you.

one thing i noticed in the bchnostr community lately — merchants accepting bch as payment are growing, but mostly in cities. here in the province, there’s none nearby yet. didn’t stop me though. needed the funds, so i cashed out through an exchange instead. and honestly, sitting with that for a second — i earned that just by posting here, being part of this community, sharing thoughts i’d probably write somewhere anyway. that’s still wild to me. so this is a genuine thank to those people behind Nostr for building a platform where something like this is even possible. for someone in a province with zero bch merchants around, still being able to turn engagement into real, usable funds means a lot more than it might sound like on the surface. still new here, still learning, but grateful for what this space has already given me. here’s to more provinces getting merchants soon, and more people discovering what this platform can actually do for them. 🌱 image

248 out of 250. that’s how close this community is to hitting the next milestone. i’ve only been here a short while but even in that time, it’s obvious this isn’t growing because of ads or hype campaigns. it’s growing because people are actually finding value here and telling others about it. word of mouth, the old-fashioned way. so consider this my contribution. i’m going to go bug a few friends about this place — the ones who are tired of algorithms deciding what they see, the ones who’d actually appreciate a space like this. not because i need to, but because i genuinely think they’d like it here. if you’re reading this and you’ve got someone in mind too, maybe today’s the day you send them the link. 248 won’t turn into 250 by itself. let’s get there. 💚💚💚 image

i’ve worked across almost every social platform out there. different niches, different audiences, different “rules” for what gets seen. but if you zoom out, they all run on the same engine — comparison, performance, the quiet pressure to be likable enough to be visible. you start writing for the algorithm before you even notice you’re doing it. so when i found bchnostr, i expected more of the same with a crypto twist. what i didn’t expect was how different it would actually feel. no algorithm decides who sees you. no filter telling you your content isn’t “performing.” just people, reading something, and choosing — actually choosing — whether it was worth their time. that’s it. that’s the whole loop. i’m still new here, still learning how this space works. but for someone who’s spent years inside platforms built to keep you anxious about your numbers, this feels like the first one that isn’t asking anything of me except to be honest. curious what changed for you when you found this place. 🌱 image
