this cafe has basically been my office for almost a year now. same table, same order, same staff who already know what i’m getting before i say it. so today i’m sitting here with a different kind of agenda — waiting for the right moment to catch the owner and bring up bchpay.cash. no pressure pitch, just a simple “hey, here’s a free way to accept bch, zero cost, zero setup, straight to your wallet.” this town doesn’t have a single bch merchant yet, and if anyone’s going to plant that seed, might as well be the regular who’s basically paying rent here at this point lol. selfishly, i’ll admit there’s a personal win too — imagine just paying for my usual order in bch every time i dine in. no cash, no cards, just straight from wallet to wallet. but honestly, the bigger thing is wondering how many other people in this town would actually want this option too, if they just knew it existed. just to be clear — i’m not an ambassador or rep for bchpay.cash, no affiliation, nothing official. just someone who believes in what this could do for small towns like mine and wants to be part of that in whatever small way i can. all the credit goes to the people who actually built it. wish me luck. update soon, hopefully with good news

priorities have officially shifted. today i opened my nostr account on my pc, supposedly so i could "multitask" while working. reader, i did not multitask. the work tab is just there now. decorative. for aesthetic purposes only. i had this whole plan of writing posts in between tasks, very productive, very balanced. instead i've just been refreshing my feed like it's a second job i actually enjoy doing, which honestly says a lot about both nostr and my work ethic today lol. 10/10 platform. 0/10 impact on my deadlines. worth it? we'll see when 5pm hits and i remember i have actual things due. 🌱😭

been thinking about this since my last post — no bch merchants near me in the province, only in cities. and instead of just waiting for that to change, why not be the one who brings it here? had a conversation with @BCH Reply Guy about bchpay.cash and it kind of clicked for me. it’s a point-of-sale terminal that just runs in any browser. no account needed, no monthly fees, no card reader to buy, payments go straight to your wallet. it’s also open source and works offline, which matters a lot in places like mine where signal isn’t always reliable. so here’s the idea i’m sitting with — what if i start small? talk to the sari-sari store i always buy from, the local cafe, the vendors i already have a relationship with. not as some big pitch, just “hey, here’s a way to accept this, no cost to you, no risk.” most of them have never even heard of bch, let alone known there’s a way to accept it with zero setup. maybe nothing comes of it. maybe one shop says yes and that’s enough to start something bigger here. if anyone’s tried introducing bchpay.cash to local merchants already, i’d love to hear how that conversation went for you.

one thing i noticed in the bchnostr community lately — merchants accepting bch as payment are growing, but mostly in cities. here in the province, there’s none nearby yet. didn’t stop me though. needed the funds, so i cashed out through an exchange instead. and honestly, sitting with that for a second — i earned that just by posting here, being part of this community, sharing thoughts i’d probably write somewhere anyway. that’s still wild to me. so this is a genuine thank to those people behind Nostr for building a platform where something like this is even possible. for someone in a province with zero bch merchants around, still being able to turn engagement into real, usable funds means a lot more than it might sound like on the surface. still new here, still learning, but grateful for what this space has already given me. here’s to more provinces getting merchants soon, and more people discovering what this platform can actually do for them. 🌱
