Will be re-posting a bunch of shorter essays that used to live on Stacker News only here within the next couple of days... then a new essay. Then the audio version of Bitcoin from a Stoic Perspective. And then, chapter by chapter, the audiobook version of A Stoic Resurrection. At least that's the current plan. Things may change. In any case: Stay safe & Stay tuned 🫡

What if you're the One who can save us all? It is a possibility, although a minor one, and you wouldn’t necessarily know it if it were true. But it could be. Now, if there is a tiny chance that the fate of the world hinges on your actions, you should act on it. Because if it does - it is of utmost importance; and if it doesn't - then you're likely to just live a more fulfilling life. In any case, the fate of your soul undoubtedly hinges on your decisions. And as “you are the world and the world is you,” it is a fundamentally true statement. Live like it.

“There is great difference between joy and pain; if I am asked to choose, I shall seek the former and avoid the latter. The former is according to nature, the latter is contrary to it. So long as they are rated by this standard, there is a great gulf between; but when it comes to a question of the virtue involved, the virtue in each case is the same, whether it comes through joy or through sorrow.” ― Seneca View article →

Discipline alone is not enough. We need enthusiasm. Enthusiasm originates from the Greek enthousiasmos, derived from en theos, meaning "in God" or "God within"

Bitcoin from a Stoic Perspective. Two systems separated by millennia - united by natural law, discipline, responsibility, and action over intention. View article →
