just noticed my calendar said flag day. first thought: "this is a recognized holiday?" next thought: "oh wait, not THAT flag day 😅"

shoutout to two legends: @guggero @aoeu when i started exploring lightning ⚡️, i opened a channel to one of @aoeu nodes. i selected some strange options when opening the channel and it was never used. i think his node never really recognized it as a valid channel. my poor attempt at a decently-connected lightning node ended when my node crashed and almost all of my channels force closed. in the aftermath i found there were sats missing and i traced it back to the weird channel i had opened. research lead me to find chantools which appeared to be capable of closing "zombie channels". but it didnt support cln 😱, the node used by my partner. enter @guggero and his willingness to help me and add this functionality to chantools. today we finally closed the channel. thank you both so much! i hope my struggle and your efforts will help someone else.

if you're staying humble and stacking sats then you don't need to go out of your way to "buy the dip". you've already done it or will do it. good job 👍

as convenient as it is, i wish apple and google would stop making it easier to show identification or boarding passes on screen. this means your device is more vulnerable than if it was off while interacting with tsa or authorities who are more likely to confiscate or sieze your belongings.
