Brazil has been a trip! Impressive to see the Praia Bitcoin work, as well as be at Satsconf with so many local bitcoiners. And São Paulo is 4x the size of Nairobi at 23M people. Crazy!

I didn’t realize that Argentina 🇦🇷 had the greatest IMF debt in the world (~$50B). Incinerating people’s savings, buying power, and money. Good talk by @gladstein today at LABITCONF on the economic destruction that the IMF wreaks on the world.

Set up Waitabit Coffee in Nairobi this week. A place for Bitcoiners, coffee lovers, with plenty of home made baked goods. A huge thanks to @UNCLE ROCKSTAR for helping us get a POS, where we use our own @npub155m2...dcvg to run it. If you’re in town, swing by!

Field repairs in Zambia. Have to do as much on site as possible as it is too expensive to ship to HQ.

Fixing hashboards. Kind of sucks, but is part of the job and has to be done locally. image

Been a crazy couple weeks. A lot of family stuff, which I’m thankful for, including graduations, Philip winning the Rhino Charge, and a break at the coast.

Damnit all. I really like Phoenix Wallet for most of my basic Lightning expenses. What do people suggest as a mobile Lightning wallet now?

Is anyone building a decentralized, FOSS, on/off ramp for bitcoin using Nostr architecture?

Testing out Iris.to Not sure how to get off “read only” setting. Is there a private key input somewhere that I just can’t find?

Bedford was a pleasant surprise. A smaller event in a small town is always preferable to just another large conference where you only briefly see people and then never again. In Bedford everything is walkable. You congregate around certain pubs and get to have longer conversations with the people you meet. And I had a number of good conversions with everyday Brit Bitcoiners to some of the big names in the space. It’s a good town for walks and exploring. The river and rowing is quaint and calm. Mostly, I loved the one day event followed by a day to just hang out and watch a soccer game. These events are best spent in conversation, and while it’s important to have sessions of great content, I feel like that gives us the excuse to be there but the real meat is in the conversations we have and the connections we make. Good job @Peter McCormack and @Danny Knowles - Cheatcode 2024 was fantastic.

Off to London, then to Bedford. I do enjoy the UK.
