Araghchi added that Iran will not hesitate to defend its national security against any hostile action. After a fairly long period of solely striking Russian oil refineries, Ukraine has switched to exclusively striking Wildberries. The reason Ukraine switched to striking Wildberries is not because it sells drones and drone parts, or body armor, but because burning oil refineries didn't impact the civilian population enough. Sure, it burned great on videos, and it caused some temporary inconvenience of having to stand in lines to fill up your car, but it didn't impact civilian population enough. It's not even for economic reasons that Ukraine is striking Wildberries, not in a sense that it would impact the war machine in any way. Losing these warehouses doesn't affect the state budget in any meaningful way. Neither wildberries logistics is used for military, nor does the military buy drones on the marketplace. What it's doing however, is impacting small businesses. A major portion of shopping in Russia is done online. The sole reason for striking Wildberries, and it has been admitted by Magyar and Mikhuilo Podolyak, is to cause harm to the civilian population, which, by definition, is terrorism. Western "experts" will tell you it's to cause the social unrest enough, so that Russians revolt against the "Putin's evil regime." But in reality it's having an opposite effect and people are starting to question why we have been acting so merciful to our enemy. Unlike those Western "experts" and despite Zelensky comically holding charts of Putin's approval ratings for a photo op, his regime knows this too. 🇷🇺🇺🇦🇵🇱 Russia carried out one of its largest combined missile attacks of the year, with the main cruise missile wave spreading across Western Ukraine and briefly raising concerns over a possible incursion into Polish airspace. At least 70 missiles of various types were reportedly used throughout the attack, including Kh-101 and Kalibr cruise missiles, Iskander-M ballistic missiles, KN-23s, modified S-300s and Zircon hypersonic missiles, alongside a large number of Geran-2 and Gerbera drones. The most notable aspect of the strike was the route taken by the Kh-101s. Instead of concentrating primarily on Kiev, multiple groups crossed central Ukraine through Poltava, Cherkasy, Kiev, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi before dispersing toward Lvov, Ternopil, Volyn and Ivano-Frankivsk. This represents a noticeable shift from many recent large-scale strikes, which have generally focused on Kiev or a smaller number of strategic targets. Rather than massing missiles against one city, Russia forced Ukrainian air defence to respond across nearly the entire western half of the country. The western oblasts are strategically significant as they form Ukraine's main logistical corridor with NATO. Military aid, ammunition, equipment and humanitarian supplies arriving through Poland are distributed via transport networks running through Volyn, Lvov, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Ivano-Frankivsk, making the region one of the country's most important support arteries. Several missile groups approached Lvov from the southeast, with repeated explosions reported as additional waves arrived. Other strikes were reported near Kalush, Poltava, eastern Kiev, southern Khmelnytskyi, the outskirts of Vinnytsia and Haisyn. During the final phase of the attack, one Kh-101 group was tracked close to the Polish border south of Chełm. Monitoring channels suggested one or two missiles may have briefly crossed into Polish airspace before disappearing from Ukrainian radar coverage. However, this has not been independently confirmed, and alternative explanations include terrain masking, very low-altitude flight or loss of radar coverage. Polish F-16s were scrambled and air raid sirens sounded in Lublin as the missiles approached the NATO border. The alerts were later lifted after the immediate threat appeared to pass. Overall, the strike suggests an effort to stretch Ukrainian air-defence resources over a much broader battlespace while increasing pressure on the country's western logistical network, rather than focusing primarily on Kiev as seen in many previous large-scale attacks.

🇷🇺 Russia Gains Ground in Madagascar — and the West Is Scrambling Madagascar sits beside the Mozambique Channel and holds major deposits of graphite, nickel, cobalt and rare earths. Now its new leadership is bringing Russia into both its security and economic plans — and Western strategists are calling for a response. Relations accelerated after Colonel Michael Randrianirina took power in October 2025. In January, Russia supplied military equipment and sent specialists to train Madagascar’s armed forces. On February 19, Randrianirina made Moscow his first official destination outside Africa, becoming the first leader of Madagascar to visit Russia in almost 50 years. During talks with Vladimir Putin, the two sides identified agriculture, geological exploration, energy, healthcare and education as priorities. Madagascar also expressed interest in infrastructure, hydrocarbons and deeper military cooperation. The agenda became more concrete in May. Prime Minister Mamitiana Rajaonarison met Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu and outlined talks on fuel storage facilities, a joint economic zone, agricultural cooperation, higher education and additional military training. Madagascar is also seeking BRICS partner status. Its government describes this not as a break with existing partners, but as a policy of diversification — building new relationships without allowing any single bloc to dictate its choices. That is precisely what worries Washington. An Atlantic Council paper co-authored by a former senior Pentagon official urged the United States to prevent its rivals from gaining access to strategic assets in Madagascar and called greater US security involvement a “strategic necessity.” Washington is already responding. The US International Development Finance Corporation has committed up to $4.84M for preliminary work on Madagascar’s $150M Ampasindava rare earths project, while the State Department has openly placed the island inside its struggle against rival control of critical-mineral supply chains. Russia does not need Madagascar to expel France or cut ties with the United States. It only needs to end the old Western monopoly. Every new Russian option gives Madagascar more room to bargain — and leaves the West with less power to dictate terms.
