Are any of you active on #Whitenoise? I've been interested in checking it out, kind of looking how well it works, et cetera, but it's kind of a ghost town.

#wabi-sabi Time for a new post about a beautiful tragedy... I have a dear friend who is an extraordinarily talented musician. He played and composed with an ensemble called Cafe Noir. They were an eclectic group... in the genre of "Gypsy Jazz" (think Django Reinhardt). They gained international recognition though never rose to the prominence I would think they surely deserved. Look them up in Spotify etc if you like... But this is a story about the last thing they recorded at my studio well after they broke up. 14 years ago one member, Gail, was dying of a glioblastoma. The band had long broken up, but stayed in touch.... Gail had long lived Paris where she played viola for the Paris Cirque de Soleil for many years. This should let you know what caliber she was. She had moved back home here to Texas to die. And she and the old band wanted to record one last song together. I have tears now 14 years later remembering the session... It was "Strata" composed by my friend, and performed by the members of the old band. Gail was so frail at this point she had to be walked into the studio, and played Accordion, Violin, and her beloved Viola on the track. She was barely able to do it. The brain cancer was advanced. The motor skills which were so amazing when she was in her prime were deteriorated. But the SOUL that had always been there was somehow magnified. I wept for 10+ hours while we made 4 minutes 41 seconds of finished work. This was the last thing she ever played. She would only live 2 more weeks. In some ways it could be said it was the least beautiful thng she ever played. In other, more important ways... it was certainly one of the most beautiful. ( @Bearetta 🐻‍❄️🇨🇿 I thought of you for this one as a fellow musician...)

Anyone use this combination: Android (fairly up to date) Amethyst (up to date) Wallet of Satoshi (self custodial) And have the experience of receiving zaps, but not seeing notifications for it? Since I switched over to a WOS, I started noticing that I don't know who's having me, but I see that I'm being zapped. I mean, I love the zaps and I hope I keep getting them, but I'd also like to see who the generous center was. Maybe it's something else, but it seems to be this combination.

Here's one of my favorite quotes from Satoshi. This is something that is relevant, I think, even today. The fact that he foresaw that some users would be tyrannical about small blocks was very interesting and precient. "The networks need to have separate fates. BitDNS users might be completely liberal about adding any large data features since relatively few domain registrars are needed, while Bitcoin users might get increasingly tyrannical about limiting the size of the chain so it's easy for lots of users and small devices."

Hmm... Earlier today I heard that Swift is planning on building their own blockchain-based bibbitybopamajiggy. At first, I kind of threw up in my mouth a little, which happens whenever there's these kinds of announcements. But then I realized this likely disintegrated ripple's entire big target, right? Assuming Swift isn't using XRP.

I'm wondering if we're going to see the character assassination of Nick Szabo. That's actually something quite interesting to look out for in my opinion...
