Today, we remember Hal Finney (1956–2014)!✊ Hal Finney was one of Bitcoin’s earliest pioneers and the first person to receive a Bitcoin transaction—On January 12, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto sent him 10 Bitcoin, marking the first-ever Bitcoin transfer between two computers—proving the system worked. A true cypherpunk who believed in freedom through cryptography, Hal’s vision and contributions laid the foundation for what we’re all building today.
