Users can purchase Bitcoin instantly using popular Zambian mobile money services and spend Bitcoin for everyday payments through fast, low-cost Lightning transactions that settle directly into mobile money wallets. Some Key Objectives: 🔹Deliver accessible Bitcoin on-ramp services — Allow Zambians to buy Bitcoin seamlessly with local mobile money, removing traditional banking or KYC-heavy exchange barriers and bringing Bitcoin within reach of everyday users. 🔹Integrate deep Lightning Network functionality — Enable instant, low-fee Bitcoin transactions and payments using the Lightning Network, solving Bitcoin’s scalability challenges for real-world use cases in Zambia. 🔹Achieve true mobile money interoperability — Bridge the Lightning Network with Zambia’s dominant mobile money ecosystem so Bitcoin can flow directly in and out of local wallets (e.g., MTN MoMo, Airtel Money) without friction or intermediaries holding funds. 🔹Enable practical, real-world Bitcoin payments — Support everyday spending, from buying goods at markets to paying for services, by letting users pay with Bitcoin via Lightning, with immediate settlement into the recipient’s mobile money account. 🔹Drive everyday Bitcoin accessibility and financial inclusion — Lower the technical and economic barriers so ordinary Zambians can adopt Bitcoin as a tool for savings, payments, and value transfer, fostering grassroots financial sovereignty and broader Bitcoin adoption across the country. 🚨 What have we been building in 2026? Instead of telling you, we'd rather show you. Here's everything African Bitcoiners accomplished in the first half of the year. 👇 1️⃣ We Launched ZapAds — a new product powering AI agent-to-agent commerce. 2️⃣ We Built Africa Bitcoin News — a Bitcoin-only news platform dedicated to telling Africa's Bitcoin story. 3️⃣ We Launched the Live African Bitcoin Directory — making it easier to discover Bitcoin projects, companies, and communities across the continent. 4️⃣ We Built the Lightning Dev Marketplace — connecting African Bitcoin developers with opportunities. 5️⃣ We Trained 200+ Lightning developers through bootcamps across six African cities. 6️⃣ We Expanded our educational resources to help more Africans learn about Bitcoin at every stage of their journey. 7️⃣ We Hosted Builder Conversations to connect founders, developers, and community leaders across Africa. 8️⃣ We Launched our Francophone initiatives — including the first cohort of the French Bitcoin Academy and educational programs serving the continent's growing French-speaking Bitcoin community. Every one of these initiatives exists for one purpose: to make it easier for Africans to discover, learn, build, and contribute to the Bitcoin ecosystem. This is our Proof of Work for the first half of 2026, and we are just getting started.🚀 None of this would have been possible without our incredible sponsors, partners, contributors, volunteers, and community members who continue to believe in our mission and build alongside us. Thank you for being part of this journey. Here's to an even bigger second half of 2026.🥂 Let's keep building, educating, and advancing Bitcoin adoption across Africa, together.🧡 image

🤯 Fun Fact Thursday! Did you know? If you forgot the password to your Bitcoin wallet, nobody on Earth can reset it for you ⚡ Not a bank. Not a government. Not even the creators of Bitcoin. That’s because Bitcoin ownership is controlled entirely by cryptographic keys, not names, emails, or identity documents. This means that you fully control your money, but it also means responsibility matters. image
🎬 Watch Party Wednesday Recap Together, we explored a fascinating video from Sovereign Money on Silent Payments (BIP-352) and how they're helping improve privacy in Bitcoin. Here are a few key takeaways: 🔸 Reusing Bitcoin addresses can expose your transaction history and reduce privacy. 🔸 Silent Payments allow users to receive Bitcoin through a single public address without revealing payment information on-chain. 🔸 The protocol improves privacy for individuals, businesses, and public-facing Bitcoin users. 🔸 Unlike traditional address generation, Silent Payments create unique payment destinations for every transaction behind the scenes. 🔸 While still early, wallet support is growing and the technology represents an important step forward for Bitcoin privacy. A big thank you to everyone who joined the discussion, shared insights, and asked thoughtful questions. These conversations are what make our community stronger. We're already looking forward to the next edition of Watch Party Wednesday. Until then, keep learning, keep building, and keep exploring Bitcoin. ⚡🧡 #Bitcoin #BitcoinPrivacy #SilentPayments #WatchPartyWednesday #BitcoinEducation #AfricaBitcoin image View quoted note →

177 African Bitcoin projects. Beginners still feel lost. 👇That’s exactly why local communities matter. When someone’s "first question" turns into a real conversation, they learn faster, choose better wallets, and avoid bad advice from random threads online. A strong Bitcoin community gives you more than information it also gives: ◽️Trusted people to ask. ◽️Practical resources to try. ◽️Support system to keep going when it feels confusing. ◽️ Places to spend and earn sats. We’ve seen it again and again, people need more communities that makes Bitcoin simple, useful, and local. #AfricanBitcoiners #BitcoinAfrica #LearnBitcoin #EarnBitcoin #SaveBitcoin image
