I would say Bitcoin’s and Monero’s anonymity set are similar because Bitcoin’s privacy tools are a small chunk of large amount of users vs. the whole pie of a small amount of users.
In effect privacy tools, across all spectrums have small anonymity sets.
Even say signal vs. simplex, in theory almost every encrypted communication user could be deanonymized by some sort of coordinated centralized attack that analyzes packets, time stamps, etc.
The only way to counteract this is make the pool of anonymous/encrypted users drastically bigger, or hide in plain sight.
