🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- image Hi guys !✨ image My name is Rocío, from Spain! I’m putting together a small trip to French Polynesia September 2026 when we have highest changes to encounter humpback whales and their littles ones (calving season!) and totally legal and ethical to swim with them! 🥰 It’s been a dream of mine for so long! This is the kind of experience I have in mind: 🧜‍♀️ Swimming with humpback whales, including the baby ones 🌊 Encounters with mantas, reef sharks, and Moorea’s crystal lagoons 🍍 A 4x4 adventure through the pineapple plantations and mountain viewpoints 🌺 Slow island moments, local food, warm sunsets, and beautiful places to stay I’m a freediver and scuba diver (still learning though! 🥹), but you don’t need to be one. Before swimming with whales, we can do gentle freediving training together so everyone feels safe and comfortable in the water. I’m creating a small group of like-minded people who want a beautiful, mindful, ocean-focused trip. If this sounds like something you’d love to join, send me a message — I’d be so happy to have you with us. Credits Goes to the respective Author ✍️/ Photographer📸 🐇 🕳️

🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- They weren’t just trying to control minds. They were trying to control behavior — the most valuable currency in any economy. MK-Ultra wasn’t science fiction. It wasn’t a rumor. It was a real, multimillion-dollar Cold War program designed to test whether human decision-making could be engineered. And while the experiments were brutal and scientifically chaotic, the idea behind them — that behavior could be shaped, predicted, and monetized — lived on long after the files were burned. In this investigative deep dive, we follow the money, the institutions, and the incentives behind MK-Ultra to reveal how its legacy quietly shaped the modern economy. From Cold War psychology to behavioral economics, advertising, and the attention-driven business models of Silicon Valley, this is the true story of how influence became a market — and why every powerful institution today competes not for your money, but for your mind. ________________________________________ Key Facts & Insights • MK-Ultra was a real CIA program (1953–1973) funding over 149 behavioral subprojects through universities, hospitals, and corporations. • The project failed scientifically, but it revealed that human behavior could be studied and influenced — a concept that reshaped research funding for decades. • Cold War psychology and MK-Ultra’s academic ecosystem helped accelerate fields like cognitive science, persuasion research, and early behavioral economics. • Modern markets run on attention, emotion, and decision-shaping mechanisms — the same variables MK-Ultra sought to understand. • Tech platforms, advertisers, political strategists, and financial institutions now use data-driven behavioral tools far more powerful (and subtle) than anything MK-Ultra envisioned. • Today’s economic system is built on influence: from viral markets to algorithmic persuasion to the psychology behind debt, desire, and risk. ________________________________________ #FinancialHistorian #MKUltra #EconomicHistory #ColdWar #MoneyAndPower #BehavioralEconomics #HistoryOfMoney #FinancialEducation #thefinancialhistorian Credits Goes to the respective Author ✍️/ Photographer📸 🐇 🕳️

🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- THE DOOMSDAY DJ: TUNES FOR THE POST APOCALYPSE On this day in 1967, the Cream LP “Disraeli Gears” debuted on the UK Albums Chart at #33 (November 18) According to engineer Tom Dowd, the recording sessions at Atlantic Studios in New York took only three-and-a-half days, and the band's visas expired on the very last day of recording. Writing for the BBC, Chris Jones nailed it by describing the album as "a perfect encapsulation of the point where the blues got psychedelic and in turn got heavy". Brilliant drummer Ginger Baker recalled how the album got its name: “You know how the title came about – Disraeli Gears – yeah? We had this Austin Westminster [car], and Mick Turner was one of the roadies who'd been with me a long time, and he was driving along and Eric [Clapton] was talking about getting a racing bicycle. Mick, driving, went 'Oh yeah – Disraeli gears!' meaning derailleur gears ... We all just fell over ... We said that's got to be the album title.” The album features the singles "Strange Brew" and "Sunshine of Your Love", and went all the way to #1 in Australia, Sweden and Finland, #2 in France, #4 in the US and New Zealand, #5 in the UK, and #10 in Canada. In 1999, the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2020 the album was ranked #170 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The classic psychedelic cover art was created by Australian artist Martin Sharp who lived in the same building as Clapton, The Pheasantry in Chelsea. Sharp would go on to create the artwork to Cream's next album “Wheels of Fire” and co-wrote the songs "Tales of Brave Ulysses" and The Savage Seven movie theme "Anyone for Tennis" with Clapton.
