Opened in 1917 on Al-Mutanabbi Street near the Tigris, Shabandar Cafe is one of Baghdad’s oldest cultural cafes. For decades, it has been a meeting place for writers, poets, intellectuals, and regulars who come for tea, conversation, and newspapers.
Despite surviving wars and the 2007 bombing that killed four sons and a grandson of its longtime owner Haj Mohammed Al-Kheshali, the cafe continues to stand as a living part of Baghdad’s daily life, with walls lined with old photographs and memories of the city.

Celebrating Anthony Hopkins’ 88th birthday!
Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins CBE, born 31 December 1937, is a Welsh actor, film director, and film producer.
He has received many accolades, including two Academy Awards for Best Actor, four BAFTAs, two Emmys, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and a British Academy Television Award. In 1993, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the arts.
Hopkins received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003 and the BAFTA Fellowship for lifetime achievement from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2008.

In 1939, Victor Albert Bouffort built a prototype of an aerodynamic car with futuristic shapes in France.
The car was built on a modified chassis of the Citroen Traction Avant.
The engine was 1.3 L and produced 33 horsepower.
The car has been preserved and has been carefully restored.

An "Italy vibrant red beauty" 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Mille Miglia Roadster
The Alfa Romeo 8C name was used on road, race and sports cars of the 1930s. The 8C means 8 cylinders, and originally referred to a straight 8-cylinder engine.
The Vittorio Jano designed 8C was Alfa Romeo's primary racing engine from its introduction in 1931 to its retirement in 1939.
In addition to the two-seater sports cars it was used in the world's first genuine single-seat Grand Prix racing car, the Monoposto 'Tipo B' - P3 from 1932 onwards.
Kasteel Heemstede is a restaurant in Houten, Netherlands.
It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star for the periods 2003-2008 and 2011-present.
The restaurant is located in the souterrain of the eponymous castle, although it was in fact an buitenplaats.
Owner and head chef of Kasteel Heemstede is André van Doorn, who opened the restaurant in 2002.
The original building was built around 1645. After a chequered past, it burned down in 1987. New owners came and went, as no one could finance the rebuilding. Finally it was sold to building company WCN, later Phanos (company).
They started the renovation of the building that was completed in 2002.
