-THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-
"To write is to forget. Literature is the most agreeable way of ignoring life. Music soothes, the visual arts exhilarates, the performing arts (such as acting and dance) entertain. Literature, however, retreats from life by turning in into slumber. The other arts make no such retreat— some because they use visible and hence vital formulas, others because they live from human life itself.
This isn't the case with literature. Literature simulates life. A novel is a story of what never was, a play is a novel without narration. A poem is the expression of ideas or feelings a language no one uses, because no one talks in verse."

The 1936 Bugatti T57S Roadster Corsica.

Here's a 1956 Aston Martin DB2/4 Mark II Touring Spyder.

Art Himsl's 1937 Chris Craft Zeppelin Roadliner Motorhome Is One Of A Kind, aeronautically inspired motorhome.
It looks more like a child of the fifties, but was born in 1937.

It was designed with a lightweight aluminum skeleton covered in "Grade A" linen aircraft fabric, resembling early airplanes and the Goodyear blimp.
The fabric was stretched over the entire body except for metal around the windows.
The original power plant was a Plymouth six-cylinder engine rated at 82 hp.
The vehicle was registered as a Plymouth House Car and was first put into service in 1942.
Today, Zeppelin is owned by Art Himsl, a famous custom car builder.
Art Himsl and a good friend, Ed Green, saw the rear end sticking out of a barn in Napa Valley, California, in 1968.
At first, the car was used as an office in its current state. In 1999, a comprehensive renovation was carried out.
Today the immaculately presented Zeppelin boasts a 350cubic inch V8 Chevy engine, push button automatic transmission, air-ride suspension, a refrigerator, microwave oven and front and rear air bags.
The motorhome has two doors, one on each side, behind the driver and front passenger seats. The interior has two leather bench seats, one on each side of the vehicle. The table drops down to access a queen bed. Art Himsl also installed a rear-view camera, and even a little propeller on the back. There are no bathroom facilities.
The outer shell – originally a mixture of steel and fabric – is in “Stitz Poly-Fiber”, a plastic material, effectively painted by Himsl himself. The primary color is a candy apple red with a cream top and wide accent panel covering the midsection of the body.
In that midsection, outlined in wide orange and black paint is the answer to a viewer’s first two questions: who owns it and what is it?
It modestly states in bold, but muted lettering “HIMSL ZEPPELIN 1937 ROADLINER.”
The wheel arches are not original, the car originally lacked front wheel arches.
In 2002 the renovation was completed and the car was renamed “1937 Himsl Zeppelin Roadliner”.
It is considered one of the most eccentric and well-known custom motorhomes ever created, functioning as a true piece of rolling history.

This week in 1964, The Beatles single “She Loves You” debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 at #69 (January 25)
It went all the way to #1 in the US, the UK, Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Denmark and Norway, #2 in Ireland, #3 in Australia, #4 in Italy, and #7 in Germany.
It remains the band's best-selling single in the United Kingdom and the top-selling single of the 1960s in the UK by any artist.
Paul McCartney recalls them playing the finished song on acoustic guitars to his father Jim at home immediately after the song was completed: "We went into the living room and said 'Dad, listen to this. What do you think?
And he said 'That's very nice son, but there's enough of these Americanisms around.
Couldn't you sing 'She loves you, yes, yes, yes!'
At which point we collapsed in a heap and said 'No, Dad, you don't quite get it!'"
In November 2004, Rolling Stone ranked "She Loves You" #64 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time…

September 4, 1970, Jim Morrison, Max Fink, Frank Lisciandro and Babe Hill use the recess to venture off on a fishing trip in the Bahamas. Frank Lisciandro has his camera on hand and snaps a few photos of the group.
When people think of Jim Morrison, the legendary frontman of The Doors, the image that usually comes to mind is one of chaos and charisma - the leather-clad poet prowling the stage, spitting out verses like incantations, or the restless wanderer drifting through smoky bars and late-night streets in search of inspiration. His life, short as it was, seemed like a storm. Yet hidden within that storm were rare flashes of calm. One such instance, often overlooked in the mythology of Morrison, was the time he found solace in an unlikely place: a quiet fishing trip.
For Morrison, fishing was more than a pastime; it was a brief escape from the relentless noise of fame. The late 1960s had placed him under an unforgiving spotlight. Every lyric was analyzed, every performance scrutinized, every stumble reported. Even for a man who thrived on pushing boundaries, the intensity of public life could be suffocating. Fishing gave Morrison something the stage never could - silence.
