-THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-
📍 Casa Batlló, Barcelona, Spain 🇪🇸
There is not a single straight line on this building. Casa Batlló is Antoni Gaudí's 1906 renovation of an apartment block on Passeig de Gràcia, and at dusk, when the interior lights flick on, the facade turns into something alive 🐉. The roof is scaled like a dragon's spine, the balconies look like skull masks, and the shimmering mosaic tiles shift colour depending on where you stand.
Locals call the block it sits on the "Block of Discord" because three rival architects, Gaudí included, each designed a building here trying to outdo one another. Gaudí won. The interior is just as wild: bone-shaped columns, a light well tiled in graduating shades of blue, and not a single right angle in the entire stairwell.
Book the first or last entry slot to avoid the crush. The evening visit includes a rooftop experience where you can stand on the dragon's back and look out over the city lights ✨.

Stacked balconies fold into sharp zigzags—turning a simple apartment block into a study in shadow, repetition, and modular geometry.
The white planes bounce light, the orange recesses deepen the voids, and the whole thing reads like origami in concrete.

He built his reputation on strength that seemed almost superhuman. In the end, the very display of that strength led to his death.
Milo of Croton lived in the sixth century BC and was one of the most celebrated athletes of the ancient Greek world.
Born in the city of Croton in southern Italy, then part of the Greek colonies, he dominated the sport of wrestling.
Ancient sources record that he won the boys’ wrestling event at the Olympic Games and later secured six victories in the adult division.
He also achieved multiple wins at the Pythian, Isthmian, and Nemean Games, making him a repeated champion across the major Panhellenic festivals.
Stories about Milo emphasized not only competitive success but extraordinary physical feats.
One tale describes him training by carrying a calf on his shoulders each day as it grew, gradually increasing his strength. Another claims he once carried his own bronze statue into the stadium.
While such accounts likely contain exaggeration, they reflect how he was perceived by later writers such as Pausanias and Diodorus Siculus.

Coffee cocktails are the ultimate bridge between a late-night energy boost and a sophisticated nightcap.
The secret to mastering them lies in balancing the intense, roasted bitterness of the coffee with the heavy, sweet richness of the spirits.

"It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" is the first track of the group's album “T.N.T.”, released in December 1975, and was written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Bon Scott. The song is notable for combining bagpipes with hard rock instrumentation. George Young (the older brother of Angus and Malcolm), having heard that Bon Scott was in a pipe band, encouraged the use of bagpipes. Scott obliged despite having never played them before having actually been a drummer in the band. Scott used a set of bagpipes to play the song live until 1976. There was an incident where he set them down at the corner of a stage and they were destroyed by fans. Subsequent live performances used a recording of the song's bagpipe part or an extended guitar solo by Angus.
A slightly shortened version of the song is also the first track on the international version of “High Voltage”, released in May 1976. This version appears only on the vinyl release and the 2003 CD reissue. The full version of the song is also on the Volts CD of the Bonfire box set, released in 1997.
"It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" was a signature song for Bon Scott. Brian Johnson, who replaced Scott as AC/DC's lead vocalist after Scott's death in 1980 until his departure in 2016, did not perform it out of respect for his predecessor.
In May 2001, Australasian Performing Rights Association celebrated its 75th anniversary by naming the Best Australian Songs of all time, as decided by a 100-member industry panel. "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" was ranked as the ninth song on the list.’

Maple syrup is a cultural pillar and an economic powerhouse in North America, particularly in Canada.
Quebec alone produces nearly three-quarters of the global supply and even maintains a heavily guarded strategic reserve of the liquid, often compared to Fort Knox. The tradition dates back centuries to indigenous peoples who first discovered how to extract and reduce the tree sap, laying the foundation for an industry that now defines the region.
The actual production remains an extreme test of patience and reduction. When a maple tree is tapped, the raw sap that flows out is completely clear and watery. It must be collected in massive volumes and poured into large evaporator pans to boil relentlessly over a wood fire. The math behind the operation is staggering—it takes roughly 40 liters of raw sap to yield a single liter of finished syrup.
As the water evaporates, the sugars concentrate and slowly caramelize, developing that signature deep amber color. Before it cools, the hot liquid is strictly filtered to remove naturally occurring minerals and sugar crystals. It is immediately bottled while still piping hot, sealing in a pure, unrefined flavor that artificial pancake syrups can never replicate.
