🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- image 📍 Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italy 🇮🇹 From above, Vernazza looks like someone pushed an entire village to the edge of a cliff and it just decided to stay. Colourful houses stack on top of each other, a medieval watchtower guards the tiny harbour, and behind it all, terraced vineyards climb the hillside in neat rows carved out by hand over centuries 🍇. Of the five Cinque Terre towns, Vernazza is the one that earns the hype. The harbour is natural, not built, which means it's been a fishing port since the 11th century. Walk past the main piazza and down to the breakwater for the classic view back at the village, especially in the late afternoon when the stone turns warm and golden. Get here early by train from La Spezia or hike in on the Sentiero Azzurro trail from Monterosso. The 90-minute walk along the coast is one of the best short hikes in Europe 🥾. 🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- image Did You Know? Drowning is not typically described as painful, but it is intensely distressing and frightening. When a person is drowning, they struggle desperately to reach the surface and breathe. In many cases, this struggle can last around 60 to 90 seconds. During that time, the person may gasp for air, inhale water, cough, and then inhale water again as the lungs begin to fill. As water enters the airway, it can cause a strong burning sensation and uncontrollable coughing. Panic and the instinct to breathe take over, making the experience extremely overwhelming. After this initial phase, as oxygen levels in the brain begin to drop, the person may become weaker and less aware of what is happening. A sense of confusion, drowsiness, or even unusual calm can occur. This calmness is not peaceful in a conscious sense, but rather the result of the brain being deprived of oxygen. Without oxygen, the brain cannot function properly. Eventually, unconsciousness occurs. If oxygen is not restored quickly, the heart stops beating and brain death follows. Drowning is often silent and fast, which is why prevention, supervision, and water safety awareness are so critically important. 🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- image 'Boxing is a great game, despite its many detractors. Attack is only half the art of boxing. Skill is the other half. You must always be fit and ready when you take part in the sport. Preparation, dedication and direction would be the key. lf you are going into boxing, you must put your own mind down to it, and have a bit of luck along the way too. The rewards can be very good. Even when my career ended, l always managed to keep myself fit. lt's a habit, a routine you never really lose.' - Georges Carpentier "Pure signal, no noise" Credits Goes to the respective Author ✍️/ Photographer📸 🐇 🕳️

🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- THE DOOMSDAY DJ: TUNES FOR THE POST APOCALYPSE image image This week in 1975, the Bob Dylan LP “Blood on the Tracks” went to #1 on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart (March 1) With the creative inspiration for the songs on the album allegedly coming from his personal turmoil at the time, particularly his estrangement from his then-wife Sara, of Bob and Sara’s children, Jakob Dylan, has said, "When I'm listening to Blood On The Tracks, that's about my parents." But in a 1985 interview, Bob Dylan denied it, saying: "A lot of people thought that album pertained to me. It didn't pertain to me ... I'm not going to make an album and lean on a marriage relationship." Dylan’s fifteenth studio album was a commercial success, and remains one of Dylan's best-selling studio releases, also peaking at #1 in Canada and New Zealand, #2 in Norway, #3 in Spain, #4 in the UK, and #5 in the Netherlands. Before recording the songs that would constitute “Blood on the Tracks”, Dylan previewed them for a number of friends in the music world, including David Crosby, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills, Tim Drummond and Peter Rowan. Nash recalled that Stills disliked Dylan's private performance of his new songs; immediately after Dylan left the room, Stills allegedly remarked to Nash, "He's a good songwriter ... but he's no musician." Producer Phil Ramone spoke of Dylan’s spontaneous approach to recording the album: "Sometimes he will have several bars, and in the next version, he will change his mind about how many bars there should be in between a verse. Or eliminate a verse. Or add a chorus when you don't expect." In 2015, “Blood on the Tracks” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2020, the album was ranked #9 on Rolling Stone's list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. #bobdylan, #dylan, #bloodonthetracks, #classicalbum, #grammyhalloffame, #70smusic, #tangledupinblue, #dailyrockhistory, #thisdayinmusic, #onthisday "Pure signal,no noise" Credits Goes to the respective Author ✍️/ Photographer📸 🐇 🕳️

🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- image Herodotus "In peace sons bury fathers, but war violates the order of nature, and fathers bury sons." "Herodotus , (born 484?, Helicarnassus, Asia Minor—died 430/420 BC), Greek historian. He resided in Athens and then in Thurii in southern Italy. His travels covered a large part of the Persian empire. He is the author of the first great narrative history produced in the ancient world, the History of the Persian Wars. It is a unified artistic masterpiece, with many illuminating digressions and anecdotes skillfully worked into the narrative. Despite many inaccuracies, it remains the leading source of original information about Greece between 550 and 479 BC, as well as that of much of western Asia and Egypt."
