Scuba Diving and Alcohol: ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐ค๐ง๐ฉ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ !
Drinking even a small amount of alcohol before a dive can lead to poor choices, ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ง๐ค๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ค๐จ๐๐จ and increased risk of ๐ฟ๐๐๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ง๐๐จ๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ. Any of these things on their own can create an emergency. With alcohol in the mix, theyโre a triple threat.

This retro futuristic two-seater was based on a Panhard Dyna X87 and built by two French industrial designers - Jean-Pierre Dernat, a sculptor, and Serge Mouille, a designer of banisters and chandeliers.
The man in the picture was the owner of the car, Pierre Pothier.
The car was made of a light alloy of aluminum and magnesium.
The only way to enter into the car was through the small gullwing doors on the roof.

The plot to kill Julius Caesar involved at least 60 senators, including his own friends.
They stabbed him 23 times in the Senate on March 15, 44 BC, a day known as the Ides of March.
The assassins believed they were saving the Roman Republic. Instead, their actions sparked years of civil war and led directly to the rise of the Roman Empire under Caesar's heir, Augustus.

A photo taken during the relocation of the Abu Simbel temple....
In 1960s, one of the greatest archaeological rescue missions in history unfolded on the banks of the Nile. The massive rock temples at Abu Simbel, built by Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th Century BC, were in danger of disappearing beneath the rising waters of Lake Nasser after construction of Egyptโs Aswan High Dam.
Between 1964-1968, an international team led by UNESCO carefully cut the temples into more than 1,000 blocks, some weighing up to 30 tons each. The entire complex was moved about 65 meters higher and 200 meters back from its original location, then meticulously reassembled to preserve its original alignment and appearance.
The project cost roughly $40 million at the time (over $300 million today) and involved contributions from more than 50 countries, marking one of the first large-scale global heritage collaborations.
Engineers preserved the templeโs remarkable solar alignment twice a year, sunlight still penetrates the inner sanctuary to illuminate statues of Ramses II and the gods, just as it did over 3,000 years ago.

Albert Pike
"Almost all the noblest things that have been achieved in the world, have been achieved by poor men; poor scholars, poor professional men, poor artisans and artists, poor philosophers, poets, and men of genius."
"Albert Pike (1809-1891) was a prominent figure in the Freemasons, the Confederate States Army and the Arkansas Supreme Court. He was born in Massachusetts, traveled across the West, practiced law and journalism, and wrote books and essays on various topics." (Wikipedia)

When extremists threatened to destroy Timbuktuโs ancient manuscripts in 2012, one librarian refused to let centuries of knowledge disappear.
Abdel Kader Haidara quietly organized a daring rescue, hiding and smuggling hundreds of thousands of priceless texts out of the city under constant danger. Itโs a powerful true story of courage, culture, and ideas saved against all odds.
His fascinating life story is featured in the book Protectors of the Written Word, along with the ones of 24 other people who have dedicated their lives to spreading the joy of reading.

La Maison Rose, Montmartre, Paris, France ๐ซ๐ท This little pink restaurant on the corner of Rue de l'Abreuvoir is one of the most photographed buildings in Paris, and it's been that way since long before Instagram existed. Picasso and Utrillo used to drink here ๐จ. The ivy creeping down the buildings above it and the worn cobblestones beneath it haven't changed much since their time.
Montmartre at sunrise, like in this photo, is a completely different neighbourhood from the one you'll find at noon. No crowds, no queues for Sacrรฉ-Cลur, just empty streets and warm light on old stone. If you're staying in Paris, set one alarm early. Just one.
The food at La Maison Rose is decent French bistro fare, nothing revolutionary. But you're not going for the menu. You're going because some corners just feel like they belong in a film, and this is one of them ๐ธ.

A striking comparison highlights the size difference between the modern Sumatran orangutan and the extinct Gigantopithecus.
The Sumatran orangutan typically stands about 1.2โ1.4 meters tall and weighs between 50โ90 kilograms. In contrast, Gigantopithecus is estimated to have reached a towering height of 2.7โ3 meters and weighed approximately 200โ300 kilograms.
The dramatic contrast in scale shows how massive this ancient ape was compared to its modern relative. Overall, the comparison underscores the remarkable size of Gigantopithecus and offers insight into the diversity of ape evolution.

Lake Retba is a famous lake in Senegal ๐ธ๐ณ, near the city of Dakar. People also call it Lac Rose.
The lake is known for its pink water. The pink color comes from a salt-loving algae (Dunaliella salina) that produce a red pigment in the highly saline water, especially during the dry season.
Lake Retba isnโt just beautiful, it is also economically important. Local workers extract large amounts of salt by hand, which is used in preserving fish and other products.
This salt-harvesting tradition supports thousands of people and has long been an integral part of the regional economy.

Sanxingdui is an archaeol ogical site in Sichuan Province, China, that has stunned the world with its extraordinary and mysterious artifacts.
Unearthed in the 1920s and fully excavated in the 1980s, the site revealed treasures from the ancient Shu civilization, dating back around 3,000 years. These artifacts, including towering bronze statues, striking masks with exaggerated facial features, intricate jade pieces, and gleaming gold items, are unlike anything found in other ancient Chinese cultures.
What truly sets Sanxingdui apart is its sheer uniqueness. The culture that produced these artifacts seemed to have developed in isolation, creating objects that defy comparison with those from other regions. This has sparked intense curiosity and speculation about the origins and influences of the Shu people. Yet, despite the incredible discoveries, Sanxingdui remains an enigma. The civilization behind these masterpieces vanished abruptly, leaving behind no clear reason for their sudden disappearance.
